İstanbul Ticaret Odası (İstanbul Chamber of Commerce) (İTO) that was established through the decree of Sultan Abdülhamit the Second within the last period of Ottoman Empire and entered into service as the first domestic chamber of commerce celebrates its 130th establishment anniversary in this year. İTO has the feature of being 5th largest chamber of the world with its 90 Professional Committees and its staff with an approximate number of 500.
İTO receiving the award of ‘Best Corporate Social Responsibility Project’ in 2011 World Chambers Competition, endeavors also for Turkish entrepreneurs to enter the world markets and increase their competitive power.
İstanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) provides Turkish exporter the opportunity of entering new markets through the fairs it arranged, Exhibitions of Turkish Products and other organizations. İTO that has undertaken the organization of Turkish Export Products Exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Bahrain, Malaysia, Albania, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Brazil, Syria, Kosovo, Algeria and India since 2003 will organize 1st Turkish Products Exhibition in Nigeria and 1st Turkish Products Exhibition in Mexico both of which have export potential. In addition, İTO will organize 3rd Turkish Products Exhibition and Bosnia and Herzegovina 5th Turkish Products Exhibition.
Moreover, İstanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) will arrange National Participation Organization within ‘Water, Sewage, Treatment Systems, Recycling and Environment Fair’ IFAT ENTSORGA 2012 Fair that is organized every 2 years and will be conducted in Munich, Germany between 7 -11 May 2012 and has the characteristics of being the largest environmental fair. Turkish firms will take part in the fair for the first time by means of the national participation organization that İstanbul Chamber of Commerce will make.
49 Turkish firms will attend IFAT ENTSORGA 2012 individually with their participation stands. Almost 3 thousand firms from 51 countries will exhibit their products in the fair. Besides, more than 120 thousand professionals from 170 countries will visit the fair. It is expected more than a thousand of Turkish people to visit the fair.
In the fair, the topics of water, sewage engineering, sanitary sewerage, drainage, sewage treatment, urban sanitation, road maintenance, treatment, recycling, exhaust systems, contaminated sites, noise control, instrumentation, control and control technology, laboratory technology will take part.
Turkish firms will exhibit their products and services in two individual halls. Hall A4 where water, sewage and treatment systems will exist has an area of 318 meter squares and the area of Hall C1 where solid waste and recycling subjects will take place is 156 meter squares. Thus, the firms attending the fair under the organization of İTO will be able to promote themselves by exhibiting their products on an area of almost 500 meter squares.
Furthermore, Ministry of Economy will provide 50 percent of incentive support to Turkish firms participating in IFAT ENTSORGA 2012 being a fair with ‘governmental incentive’. The firm willing to benefit from this incentive should be a “marketing / producer / manufacturing organization, or establishment and institution having legal entity, or a company established within the frame of the provisions of Turkish Commercial Code; moreover, the brands and logos that participant firms exhibit on their stands should have definitely a Brand Registration Certificate. 50 percent of the participation cost and flight tickets of 2 people are included within the incentive of T.R. Ministry of Economy. The relevant transactions will be monitored by İTO. In addition, it is stated that the necessary steps are taken for having the firms benefit from KOSGEB Incentive for Businessmen’s Foreign Trip (KOSGEB İş Adamları Yurtdışı Gezisi Teşviği) regarding the fair.
By means of National Participation Organization, İTO will provide the firms that it will take to Germany, the services such as “freight and clearance organization of stand construction, basic decoration materials, electrical connection and basic illumination products on İstanbul- Munich-İstanbul route, their insurance, including the information about the firm in fair catalogue and on internet, including the information and products of the firm in National Participant Catalogue that İTO will prepare, the opportunity of benefiting from the office equipment and communication instruments and complimentary food and drink during the fair, free supply of fair entrance card in parallel to stand’s size, monitoring activity of İTO for the incentive transactions of Ministry of Economy”.
Within the scope of IFAT ENTSORGA 2012 İTO National Participation Organization, bilateral negotiations between Turkish participant firms and foreign firms will be performed during IFAT ENTSORGA 2012. Furthermore, an observation trip will be organized by the groups consisting of the Council and Committee members from İTO.
Besides, a comprehensive promotion activity shall be performed within the scope of ENTSORGA 2012 İTO National Participation Organization. The following information about the promotion activities that will be performed within the fair is given in the statement of İTO:
“Full-page İTO advertisement will be published on the official catalogue of the fair. In addition, the advertisement was placed on the towers of Main Western and Eastern entrance doors. The advertisement was placed also on 3 City-Light Poster areas from Main Western Entrance Door of the fair to metro entrance. National Participation Catalogue that is prepared by our chamber and has the information about the participant firms and their products will be distributed to the visitors of the fair during the fair. In addition, pushcarts where an advertisement regarding our national participation exists will be distributed to the visitors in the fair. The offers and demands of the visitors will be recorded at İTO Information Stand. Moreover, the information about our firms and our Chamber, and our country’s economic data will be given together with the information about cultural subjects. Official negotiations will be performed for the solution of sectoral problems in our country and the world by Our Chamber’s Group visiting the fair.”
